ROGER DALTREY | LIVE MUSIC | 2025

When the opportunity to photograph a rock legend comes along you jump at the chance! I have to confess I’ve never been massively into The Who (though Won’t Get Fooled Again is a solid gold anthem) but I couldn’t pass up the chance to shoot a true icon in the rock world. When the topic of iconic rock frontmen comes up, Roger Daltrey is never far from people’s lips - I am so grateful to add him to my portfolio.

We’re back at The Halls Wolverhampton as part of Roger’s Alive and Kicking… and Having Fun! tour. I only got to hear the first three songs, but he was sounding great both vocally and on guitar (a very tasty Gibson Everely Brothers acoustic… mmm) and it was a treat to hear the classic Who Are You. Roger’s band were on top form too, including The Who’s Simon Townsend on guitar.

This show was challenging as there was no press pit - I was going to have to get creative with side and zoom shots. Luckily I took my trusty Sigma 70-200mm f2.8. This is quite common with seated shows, especially in theatres or concert halls. Luckily I think I got what I needed and I can see at least one of these making it to the wall in my office.

Shot for MMH Radio Online.
